Food Security and Livelihoods in Sudan NPA’s Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) response in Sudan provides conflict-affected and highly food insecure communities with access to food through interventions designed to be inclusive of diverse gender, age, and disability needs. Communities receive essential food support through coordinated grassroots distribution efforts, helping households meet their immediate nutritional needs during peak crisis. In areas where communal support mechanisms remain functional and access is possible, NPA supports community kitchens that offer shared meals and provide a critical safety net for the most vulnerable households. NPA also promotes community-based responses by supporting local first responder structures—many operating in areas inaccessible to larger actors—to continue delivering assistance.
