North of Sahara Regional Flyktninghjelpen/NRC’s Human Mobility Hub is a pilot initiative launched in January 2023 as an innovative platform that aims to address the protection and assistance needs of people on the move in the context of North Africa (Egypt and Tunisia). The HMH’s approach relies on the collaboration and partnership with local organisations, host communities, and people on the move themselves. By co-designing and co-implementing with people on the move themselves and local partners, including refugee-led organisations, the HMH aims to provide a rights-based, tailored, localized, and multi-disciplinary response. The HMH works with partners on providing legal aid support, education, lifesaving assistance (food, water, non-food items) and shelter. The project design is informed by a gender analysis, and all indicators are disaggregated by sex.
