The overall objective of this thematic protection project is to empower displacement-affected people and support the development of a protective environment so they can enjoy their fundamental rights and pursue a life of safety and dignity. NRC’s protection response reached an estimated 2 million people in 2023 and will be further improved through two of the three pillars included in this thematic project: information, counselling and legal assistance (ICLA), and protection from violence (PfV). These three pillars are aligned with the most severe and common protection concerns identified by the Global Protection Cluster. The project design is informed by a gender analysis, and all indicators are disaggregated by sex.",
