To date information about the deported children has been ad-hoc, inconsistently captured and limited to paper-based documentation. This has made it difficult to identify the children and also facilitate a return process. The project will work with the Ministry of Justice in Ukraine to support them in modernizing and formally establish a database / register of deported children. The database is a way to keep verified information about each child in a systematic way which in turn helps facilitate a safe and responsible return to Ukraine. UNICEF brings both technological support and their expertise in child protection to ensure the database is set up in the best way as well as being user-friendly.",
