Description
Protection from Sexual and Gender Based Violence in Palestine NPA Palestine responds to the urgent protection needs and severe operational constraints by applying a flexible, locally led approach to SGBV programming. Target groups are identified based on evolving conditions, with priority given to women and girls survivors of and at risk of SGBV, including persons with disabilities particularly in Gaza’s displacement sites where SGBV risks are extremely high and vulnerabilities are compounded. Given the constant change in the conflict context, NPA and partners carry out ongoing SGBV risk analysis and implement adaptative risk mitigation measures proposed by our partners in consultation with the women and girls served by our programmes. The programme addresses escalating physical and psychological SGBV resulting from repeated displacement, family separation, loss of relatives, the collapse of community protection mechanisms, overcrowded shelters, and the absence of safe and dignified sanitation and privacy. NPA also works to mitigate the impact of the breakdown of SGBV referral pathways and the significant constraints on service providers, which severely hinder prevention and response efforts. ----- NORAD
